This Privacy Policy explains how Aelo Technologies LLC ("Social Ascend," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Social Ascend mobile application and related services (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to this Policy.
Social Ascend is intended only for users 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide.
- Account information: when you create an account, we collect your email address, password (stored in hashed form), and any profile details you choose to add (such as a display name, age, or goals).
- AI chat content: messages, prompts, and any text or information you submit to our in-app AI coaching chatbot.
- Community content: posts, comments, replies, reactions, and any other content you submit to the community section of the App.
- Support communications: information you provide when you contact us for support or feedback.
Information collected automatically.
- Usage and device data: app interactions, feature usage, device type, operating system version, app version, and general diagnostic and crash data.
- Identifiers: account ID and similar technical identifiers needed to operate the App.
We do not sell your personal information.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- create and manage your account and authenticate you;
- provide the AI coaching experience, including generating responses to your messages;
- operate the community section, including displaying and moderating content;
- maintain safety, prevent abuse, and enforce our Terms and Community Guidelines;
- respond to support requests and communicate with you about the App;
- analyze usage to fix bugs and improve features; and
- comply with legal obligations.
3. How the AI Chatbot Works (Third-Party AI Processing)
The App's AI coaching chatbot is powered by third-party artificial intelligence services, currently OpenAI. When you interact with the chatbot, the content of your messages is transmitted to OpenAI's API to generate a response. This means:
- Your chat messages are sent to and processed by OpenAI in order to return a reply.
- OpenAI processes this data under its own API terms and privacy commitments. As of this writing, OpenAI states that data submitted through its API is not used to train its models by default, but you should review OpenAI's policies directly.
- We do not control OpenAI's infrastructure and are not responsible for its independent practices.
By using the AI chatbot, you consent to your message content being shared with and processed by OpenAI for the purpose of operating the feature. If you do not consent, do not use the chatbot.

4. Where Your Data Is Stored
Your account information, AI chat history, and community content are stored using Supabase, our backend and database provider, which hosts data on cloud infrastructure on our behalf. Supabase processes this data as our service provider. Data may be stored or processed on servers located in the United States or other countries; by using the App, you consent to such transfer.
5. How We Share Information
We share information only as described here:
- Service providers: with vendors who help us operate the App, including Supabase (hosting/database), OpenAI (AI processing), and analytics/crash-reporting providers. They may use the data only to provide services to us.
- Other users: community content you post is visible to other users of the App. Do not share information in the community that you wish to keep private.
- Legal and safety: when required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of users, the public, or us.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
6. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App. AI chat history and community content are retained until you delete them or delete your account, subject to backups and legal requirements. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law.
7. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You can:
- edit profile and account information in the App;
- delete individual AI chats or community posts;
- delete your account, which removes associated personal data as described above; and
- contact us at the email below to exercise any applicable rights.
California residents (CCPA/CPRA) and EU/UK residents (GDPR) have additional rights, including the right to know, delete, and opt out of "sale"/"sharing" (we do not sell your data). To exercise these rights, contact us.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls through Supabase. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children's Privacy
The App is for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will delete it. If you believe a minor has used the App, contact us.
10. Apple App Store
The App is distributed through the Apple App Store. Apple may collect certain information in connection with your download and use of the App under Apple's own privacy policy, which we do not control.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last Updated" date and, for material changes, provide additional notice in the App. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated Policy.
