Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Aelo Technologies LLC ("Social Ascend," "we," "us," or "our") governing your use of the Social Ascend mobile application and related services (the "App"). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use the App. By using the App, you represent that you are 18 or older and that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
2. Your Account
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
3. The Service
Social Ascend provides confidence and social-skills coaching content, an AI-powered coaching chatbot, and a community section where users can post and interact. We may add, change, or remove features at any time.
4. AI Chatbot — Important Disclaimer
The App includes an AI coaching chatbot powered by third-party AI services (currently OpenAI). You understand and agree that:
- The AI is not a professional. It does not provide medical, psychological, psychiatric, therapeutic, legal, or financial advice. It is for general informational and self-improvement purposes only.
- The AI can be wrong. AI-generated responses may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate. Do not rely on them as a substitute for advice from a qualified professional.
- Crisis situations. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis or thinking about harming yourself or others, the AI is not a substitute for emergency help. Contact local emergency services or a crisis hotline immediately.
- Third-party processing. Your messages are sent to OpenAI to generate responses, as described in our Privacy Policy. By using the chatbot you consent to this.
- No reliance for major decisions. Do not use AI output as the sole basis for important life, health, legal, or financial decisions.
You use the AI chatbot at your own risk.
5. User Content and Community Conduct
The App lets you submit content, including AI chat messages and community posts, comments, and reactions ("User Content").
Zero tolerance for objectionable content. There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior. You agree not to post, transmit, or share any content that is unlawful, harassing, threatening, abusive, hateful, defamatory, obscene, sexually explicit, exploitative of minors, violent, or that infringes others' rights, and not to harass, bully, impersonate, or abuse other users. The full rules are in our Community Guidelines, which are incorporated into these Terms.
Enforcement. We may remove any User Content and suspend or permanently ban any user, at our discretion and without notice, for violating these Terms or the Community Guidelines. We act on reports of objectionable content and abusive users by removing the content and ejecting the offending user, generally within 24 hours of becoming aware.
Reporting and blocking. The App provides tools to report objectionable content and to block abusive users. You agree to use them rather than retaliating.
Your license to us. You retain ownership of your User Content. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, display, and distribute your User Content solely to operate, provide, and improve the App (for example, displaying your community posts to other users). This license ends when you or we delete the content, except for backups and content others have already shared.
Your responsibility. You are solely responsible for your User Content and represent that you have the rights to post it and that it does not violate these Terms or any law.
6. Prohibited Uses
You agree not to:
- use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms;
- attempt to access accounts or data that are not yours;
- reverse engineer, decompile, scrape, or interfere with the App or its security;
- use bots or automated means to access the App without permission;
- misuse the AI to generate prohibited, harmful, or illegal content; or
- upload viruses or malicious code.
7. Subscriptions and Payments
Social Ascend offers a paid subscription, processed by Apple through your App Store account and subject to Apple's terms.
- Free trial: New subscribers may be offered a 3-day free trial. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the trial automatically converts to a paid subscription and your Apple App Store account will be charged the then-current price. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
- Auto-renewal: Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your App Store account is charged for renewal at the price and interval shown at sign-up.
- Price and features are shown in the App before you confirm any purchase.
- Managing your subscription: Manage or cancel anytime in your Apple ID → Subscriptions settings. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies; we generally cannot issue App Store refunds directly.
8. Intellectual Property
The App, including its software, design, text, graphics, and logos (excluding User Content), is owned by Aelo Technologies LLC and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the App except as allowed by these Terms.
9. Termination
You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including violation of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the App ends. Sections that by their nature should survive (including disclaimers, limitations of liability, and dispute terms) will survive.
10. Disclaimers
THE APP AND ALL CONTENT, INCLUDING AI-GENERATED CONTENT AND USER CONTENT, ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR THAT ANY CONTENT IS ACCURATE OR RELIABLE. SOCIAL ASCEND IS A SELF-IMPROVEMENT TOOL AND DOES NOT GUARANTEE ANY PARTICULAR OUTCOME.
11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, Aelo Technologies LLC AND ITS OWNERS, EMPLOYEES, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP OR RELIANCE ON ANY CONTENT (INCLUDING AI OUTPUT OR USER CONTENT). OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) USD $50. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Aelo Technologies LLC from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your User Content, your use of the App, or your violation of these Terms or any law or third-party right.
13. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. You agree that any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Wyoming, unless applicable law requires otherwise. Nothing here limits any non-waivable rights you have as a consumer.
14. Apple-Required Terms
Because the App is distributed via the Apple App Store, the following apply:
- These Terms are between you and Aelo Technologies LLC only, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App.
- If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price (if any); to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation.
- Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to the App, including product liability, legal/regulatory compliance, or consumer protection claims.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
- You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. embargo or on a U.S. prohibited-parties list.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the "Last Updated" date and, for material changes, provide notice in the App. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
